Boss Alien and NaturalMotion Games have released Custom Street Racing, a free-to-play drag racing game. The player assumes the character of a novice racer trying to make a name for himself in a barren metropolis dominated by five racing "crews." On June 29, 2016, CSR Racing 2, a sequel, was published for iOS and Android.

The single-player mode in CSR Racing is divided into five tiers, with each tier offering quicker opponents and vehicles. To advance to the next tier, the player must race and defeat the level's crew boss. The player will be challenged to a high-stakes rematch after defeating the boss of each stage.

Graphics of the future

CSR 2 pushes the boundaries of what you believed was possible on a mobile device. CSR 2 offers the most stunning and accurate supercars to date, thanks to exceptional 3D rendering technology. You can now go inside each vehicle to see the painstakingly detailed inside, including the original manufacturer's trim selections. It doesn't get any more realistic than this when it comes to racing games.

Gameplay

If the player wins the race, they receive the boss's automobile; however, if the player loses, the gold acquired in the previous boss race must be returned. CSR Racing, unlike classic racing games, lacks steering, braking, and accelerating controls. Instead, the game focuses on tapping the screen to time gear changes and use of the nitrous enhancement, akin to a rhythm game.

Depending on the event in which the player has decided to compete, races take place over a quarter- or half-mile distance. These competitions range from repeating Regulation Races with three levels of difficulty (Rookie, Amateur, and Pro) to direct confrontations with competing crew members. A race cannot be replayed once a player has defeated a member of the opposing crew.

In a regulated race, the player receives money right away. They are separated into three categories: Rookie, Amateur, and Professional. The Amateur and Pro Regulation Races in Tier 1 are unlocked by defeating Fangz, Luther, and Alesha, the first two crew members. They are available by default in the other tiers. Their prices start at $500 and go up from there.

Ladder pits the player's car against increasingly difficult opponents in order to earn more money. Each tier contains 24 Ladder races. Quarterfinals, semifinals, and finals are the last three races. These have a higher prize pool than typical ladder races. A player who wins the finals can theoretically beat the crew commander.

Daily Battles are races with a loaned car that can be done several times per day; players win increasing amounts of money if they win every day. The player must wait 20 hours after finishing a Daily Battle to be able to race in another.

Restriction races set a requirement on the automobile that must be met in order to compete. Tier 2 and up have them, however, tier 1 restricted races can only be unlocked when a player has beaten tier 5.

In World Tour (T6), a new sort of restriction was unlocked, involving all tasks for a certain car necessary for the crew, but also involving an extra car not from the crew but from the same country or region's manufacturer. The Alfa Romeo 4C was driven by the Veloci Crew, the Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG was driven by the Armada Crew, and the Jaguar F-Type was driven by the Spitfire Crew. The Ford Mustang Boss 302 Laguna Seca belonged to the Rushmore Crew.

When a player completes tier 4, challenge races become available, and when they complete tier 5, they become unavailable. These are some challenging and uncommon races with substantial monetary awards. They usually arise at random. It isn't compatible with Android.

Car-specific races, which are available at tiers 3 and up, feature a single car in the race. When a player beats tier 5, they can be unlocked for all tiers.

Only cars from a single manufacturer are allowed in manufacturer races. Tier 4 is the only place where you can get them.

A race against one of the four crew racers constitutes a crew duel. A player earns access to the crew leader by defeating them one by one. One advances to the next tier after defeating the crew leader three times.

Winning races gives the player money, which they may spend to upgrade various sections of their cars, purchase decals that provide cash bonuses per race, or purchase a new vehicle from the 'Car Dealer.' The player can also utilize a second currency called Gold to buy rare automobiles, decals, skip delivery times for new improvements, and instantly 'refuel' their cars.
